Okanagan Military Museum, 1600 Abbott St. From November 1st to November 12th, City Park will set the stage for “The Field of Crosses.” This outdoor visual memorial commemorates the lives of Canadian Armed Forces personnel who lost their lives in the service of their country. The display touches close to home for members of our community – including students – in a meaningful way. Each of the 227 young Canadian heroes are honoured with an erected cross inscribed with their name, rank, unit, and date of death. The opening ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 1st, 2026, at 1 pm, and our Sunset Candlelight ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 8th, 2026, at 5 pm. The display will be open during city park hours between November 1st and 12th, when the public can come and pay their respects to the fallen.
