Unitarian Hall, 1310 Bertram St. Juno Award-winning James Keelaghan needs little introduction; Rolling Stone magazine simply called him “Canada’s finest songwriter.” His lauded career spans more than 40 years and has yielded a body of work of incalculable importance, either drawing from the folk tradition or inspired by it. In the UK, Jez Lowe’s career spans 20-plus acclaimed albums as a solo artist along with fronting and recording The Bad Pennies. A principal writer for the BBC commissioned series The Radio Ballads, Jez also presents the program Open Country on BBC Radio Four and is set to publish his fifth in a series of novels inspired by the folk tradition and social history northeast English. James and Jez began their casual partnership touring Australian folk festivals back in 1997. Based on a mutual respect for each others' songwriting abilities and musical talents, they have since performed together throughout England and Canada and collaborated on the occasional song. In Kelowna, James and Jez will perform two forty-five minute sets accompanying each other..
