Laurel Packinghouse, 1304 Ellis Street. What does it mean to be a syilx ally, and why does understanding local Indigenous culture and perspective matter? Join syilx Elders Pamela and Grouse Barnes and Knowledge Carrier Jasmine Peone for this four-part workshop series exploring the Truth and Reconciliation journey. Across 12 hours of training, participants will gain grounding in Indigenous cultural competency from Elders who have led this work with workplaces and academic groups for many years, covering syilx worldview, the history of contact, current affairs, and the way forward.
